TIPTREE 10 MILE ROAD RACE – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ENTRY POLICY
- The Tiptree 10 Mile Road Race (the Event) is operated by Tiptree Road Runners (the Organisers) and held under UK Athletics rules.
- Entrants for the Event must be amateur and age 17 years or older on race date.
- Entrants accept that the Event is held on public roads and facilities open to the public during the Event and upon which hazards are to be expected. Participation carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated completely ranging from minor injuries to catastrophic injuries, including death.
- The Event organisers, sponsors, charities, suppliers, and/or their agents will not be liable for any injury, loss or expense which may arise in consequence of your entry in the Event, save as to negligence.
- You agree that your personal information collected through your entry in the Event will be processed by the Organisers for the purposes of operating the Event, or in connection with the Event. Your data will not be sold or transferred to any third party not working within the framework of the Event under any circumstances.
- Headphones: the Event is run according to UK Athletics rules of competition. This means that headphones that work by conducting sound through bones (e.g. Shokz) and do not sit in the ears are acceptable. All other earbuds or headphones are not allowed. If seen wearing headphones that are not allowed, you will be asked by a marshal to remove them. Any runner refusing to take them off will be disqualified. The majority of the course remains open to road traffic, and you must be aware of your surroundings at all times.
- By taking part, all entrants accept that their names and/or any footage or photographs taken during their participation in the Event may be used to publicise the Event.
- Entrants must follow instructions as given from all Event officials including marshals, volunteers, medical personnel, and local officials throughout the duration of the Event. Race marshals and medical team members have the authority to disqualify and remove any runner they consider to be acting dangerously, or to be unfit to compete.
- All Entrants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. This means, for example, that urinating or defecating anywhere on or near the course shall be strictly prohibited except in toilet facilities. Anyone violating this rule will be disqualified from all future Events.
- Numbered runner bibs are specific personal identifiers, which are unique to each Entrant. They cannot be exchanged, given to, or sold to any other person. No Entrant shall be permitted to take part in the Event without the appropriate bib number. All Entrants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of the race number, which must be worn on the front of their shirt/top throughout the duration of the run.
- No wheeled vehicles or dogs are permitted.
- Event organisers reserve the right to delay, postpone, cancel, alter the route, or not officially time the race in adverse weather conditions or other events outside of organiser’s control. The determination of what constitutes this is reserved solely by the Event Race Director and Race Adjudicator. No refunds will be issued in these circumstances.
- The Organisers will not be responsible for any loss, theft, or damage of your personal belongings, other than as a result of our negligence or other breach of statutory duty.
- If your postal address, email address, or telephone number details change, you must inform the Event Organisers as soon as possible by either changing your details online (details of which were on your confirmation email) or by emailing tiptree10@tiptreeroadrunners.com. If this is not done, the Organisers cannot guarantee that you will receive all Event communications.
- In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Race Director shall be final.
REFUNDS/DEFERRALS:
- No refunds or deferrals are offered. No exceptions.
- The moment you enter our Event we incur administration costs and charges, simply in processing your entry and payment. This applies also if the Event has to be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside our control. Your entry fee is invested in the cost of staging the Event and the main costs to contractors, suppliers, administration, etc, are already committed well before race day.
- No refund will be given if the Event has to be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside the Organiser’s control.
TRANSFERS:
- If you would like to transfer your entry to another person, you can do this by logging into your registration through the link provided in your confirmation email. Transfers must be managed via the registration website. Do not pass your number to another runner.
- There will be NO transfers on race day. Any Entrant found to have passed on their number to another runner will be disqualified.
MEDICAL ADVICE:
- Entrants enter the Event entirely at their own risk and confirm that they are of sufficient mental and physical health and fitness to participate and compete in the Event.
- It is recommended that the Participant prepares and trains for the Event. The Participant is advised to consult with a medical professional prior to entering the Event if they have not exercised for some time.
- If the Participant has a medical condition, it must be detailed by completing the relevant section of the Event application at the time of entry and on the reverse of the race number worn on race day.
- Entrants are required to give assistance to fallen runners and to report any casualties immediately to the nearest first aid post or race marshal.
